I am a soon to be college student who just received an HP laptop with Windows 7. For my entire life, I have been raised on the windows operating systems (XP) and I am used to it. Recently, I heard about the Linux operating systems, and have been intrigued by them, so I have tried to research as much as I can about them. I am not too computer savvy, but I feel as if I know at least the basics for running Windows. I have heard that Linux is extremely hard to work and can be very frustrating. I have also been told that I will hate it because of its complexity. What I am asking is, what makes it different than Windows? and I don't want answers that will tell me how much faster or better it is than Mac or Windows, because that's all that I was able to find on the internet. What I would like to know is how it actually works. I know how Windows works: You turn it on, it brings you to the log-in. You sign into the computer with your name and password, and it brings you to your desktop. Then you just activate the programs. Its quite simple, and it makes me wonder, how much harder could Linux be? Could someone please explain to me what makes Linux so much more of a tough operating system than Windows or Mac? Why would it be frustrating at times? What do you have to do to actually run the system? Any feedback would be great. I am also thinking of dual booting Windows 7 and one of the Linux Operating systems, probably either Linuxmint Felicia, LXDE, or 10 KDE. New Discus on his side...?

I have a very established 90 gallon tank- 8 days ago I added 2 three inch discus to my tank and they are doing excellent- my water conditions are identical to the tanke they came from. So I ordered another from the same store/company and picked up the fish still in the bag off the delivery truck so he wouldn't have to be acclimated twice and I got him about 24 hours ago now. he was stressed at first which I expected but after a couple hours his color came in beautifully and he was swimming with the other 2 discus. last night he was in a corner on the bottom stressed out again. this morning he looks even worse- on the bottom of the tank leaning against a plant. I know discus stress easily and I got him irght off the truck and that includes risks- but what should I do to help him? I have congo's and many other various tetras plus the other 2 discus.... If I can help him- I want to help! Please, any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I believe the fight would be close with Patterson landing some fast combos but falling for the Walcott Shuffle and getting knocked down once or twice. Computer problem - pages not opening properly?

I have a bit of a problem with my pc....basically, when I got to open an item from my desktop (yahoo etc) the page takes ages to open up and often 2 pages will open up (I only click the desktop logo once) Also it sometimes only opens it to the restore down size so I have to open it full size using the maximise thingy in the top right hand corner. My apologises, I'm a complete novice when it comes to computers so I doing my best to explain it properly! When I have to maximise the page, that often opens another page too and when I try to close it, it takes ages. Its only be like this for a couple of weeks, I've restored the computer back to before this, I've also deleted browsing history and free up some space on my hard disk. Other than that, its working ok. I'd really appreciate any advice. Thanks in advance.

Try to think back to the day he bucked... was it simply a buck from his high spirits or did he pin his ears back as though in pain. if its the first one then most likely it is you who has lost confidence in riding and in that case defiantly go to some lesson and brush up on your skills horses can sense everything and its most likely he can now tell your scared on him and because you have a great bond on the ground he really trusts you so if you get on him scared or nervous hes going to think there is something to be scared and worried about. If its was the second option with the ears pinned back then perhaps he spooked at something or maybe his saddle pinched him and now Associates you with that but that is unlikely as ye have such a great bond on the ground. you say he is fine for other people so its unlikely to be pain related. but its hard to tell without seeing. So ya go get some lessons and maybe bring your horse too after a couple weeks ( maybe longer depending on your riding standard) it will be great to have a trainer there to help you too.Also finally he could just be taking the piss and sense you aren't able to control him and in that case bring him to your lesson and get firm with him he could just need some good schooling. Get a heat protection spray to use beforehand. Spay it all over your hair including underneath before straightening. Afterwards use a smoothing serum/cream/balm. First fall off my horse question?

I had my second riding lesson on my horse yesterday. He is stiff on his left rein. I am novice because I had a huge confidence knock a while back whilst I had this horse on loan and I basically needed to be taught to ride again. This horse gave me so much confidence! Even though he is very cheeky. So, what we were doing is trotting down once side of the menage then catering up the other side. He used to be extremely overweight but now that he has lost most of it he is becoming very strong. He would be a bit cheeky and try to canter all the way around the school. I managed to make him trot on the left side though. When we changed the rein he trots around on the rein perfectly but is always on the wrong lead in canter. I managed to get him into the right lead and we had a great canter on that rein until it got to where we trot. He bolted around the menage and then he turned a really sharp corner and then just stopped and threw his shoulder to the side. I landed on my head and shoulder quiet hard. I really don't understand though? My shoulder doesn't hurt one tiny bit! My neck it a bit stiff today though. I have a HUGE bruise on my knee and my ankle hurts SO much I can't put any weight on it! I have hurt my ankle before but never so much I can't walk on it. But how did it happen? I landed on my head and shoulder, not my ankle? It's kinda weird. And what should I do about my ankle. If it help he is a 15hh cob so It wasn't a very big fall. This was only my second fall ever and my first fall off him. But I DID get back on and had a nice trot around, not very well though because my ankle hurt. I know it is a stupid question, but how did I hurt my ankle?

Why do I always get sick during my runs?

I am in excellent shape and i run often. The only problem is that I get very sick during my runs. Like nauseated. And it doesn't take long to make this happen. Usually I'll be on the first mile and it starts bugging me. This would be understandable if I were really out of shape, but i'm not. This is just a constant issue... I am in very good health otherwise, and I have talked to medical people about it, but I have had very mixed answers that don't get me anywhere. Please, If anyone can offer me any advice or thoughts on the matter, it would be greatly appreciated.

Well the way I am thinking about titling my novel is ([main character] and [the subtitle]). I thought this would be excellent but then a few weeks later I realized that the famous Harry Potter series was titled in that fashion. Though age should not matter, many agents will reject your work if they find out you are under 18 because of legal responsibilities, as I understand. That doesn't mean that you shouldn't send your stuff in though. Some publishers, if they are willing enough, can come up with a special contract that you and your parents sign together...at least, that's how it worked with me, because I was a minor at the time when I signed my contract, even though by the time I finish the book, I won't be. Unfortunately, I can't tell you how to approach an agent about age. I never sent my things to an agent. Someone found my stuff online and contacted me about it. They asked if I would be interested in having my work published through their company, and when I replied, I said that I was, mentioned that I was only 17 or 16 and asked if that would be a problem for them. I have not heard of publishers taking advantage of younger authors, but I doubt they would because of the trouble it could bring. And no, having it on a website does not make it untouchable. That's how my work got noticed. You do, however, want to be cautious just where online you put your work. www.worthyofpublishing.com is where I had my stuff, and in my opinion, they seem to have good copyright policies. As far as length goes, I don't think there is a specific one you should limit yourself to. Think about the different books you've seen. Some crime novels are about 200 pages, while harry potter books may be about 400. I wouldn't worry too much about that, really. I don't know about writing a query. I never dreamed of sending my book to a publisher because I'm a perfectionist and never thought it would be good enough. And yes, if two publishers accept, it is up to you to choose which you want or which offer is better etc. I'm not quite sure I follow you on the "author purpose" thing. I have many goals as a writer, and many more with individual stories that i feel are my "purpose". Anyhow, if you need a fresh pair of eyes and you're worried about the whole internet thing, feel free to shoot me an e-mail of whatever excerpt you have that you feel is in need. I'm a little tied up right now with finishing my own novel, but I'd be glad to set it aside for a little bit if a fellow writer is in need. I'm a pretty trustworthy girl, but I know you can't trust just anyone with your writing and hard work. Whats wrong with my nitro rustler 2.5?

About a month ago i bought a Nitro Rustler 2.5. The first day i had it it worked excellent. I took my time and broke it in properly as stated in the book and thought all was well. I did everything as needed. I cleaned the air filter ect. Now when i go to use the truck it works great for about 5 minutes then it will bog down and the Idle will get high and low and then eventually die. What could be my problem? The engine still has excellent compression and ive been cleaning it it WD40 as per the instructions in the book.

I'm looking for a car to go on a long road trip, and I am looking to save money on gas and avoid hotels and sleep in my car when possible. Some cars I have considered are the Honda Fit, Prius hatchback and Scion xd (the seats fold flat and provide enough room to sleep in. I've heard that when going over 55 mph the Prius doesn't get very good gas mileage at all. I expect to be going at least 70 most of the way. Any info at all will be greatly appreciated
