Is it too late to plant vegetable plants from the nursery?

My brothers landlord started a garden and now the landlord told him he has extra space and that my brother can have some space to plant. My question is, is it too late to plant vegetables like tomatoes, onions, corn, cucumbers, sugar snap snow peas, potatoes, and leaf lettuce ? And my brother lives in Akron Ohio. My brother asked me because i have a garden in my yard, but I am still a novice because this is just my second year of planting and i really do not know what to tell him! I planted most of my veggies the last of april beginning of may. Any advise to pass along to him would be great! Thank you!
